... made easy thanks to anexio®

A completely new waterworks is rather rare. But the municipal utilities of Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock, founded in 2017, had the vision of ensuring their own water extraction and pumping independent of suppliers. They used the anexio® software for operating data acquisition and work organization. With success: after almost two years of construction, they achieved their goal of having their own drinking water supply.

Facts and figures about the waterworks:

  • Supply area: 19,000 people
  • Construction period: 2 years (2021–2023)
  • Vertical filter wells: five, each approx. 30 m deep
  • Processing plant: two lines with 100 m³ processing capacity per hour
  • Drinking water storage: two chambers with 750 m³ of water each
  • Pumping station: 6 pumps with a total capacity of 520 m³ per hour and an output pressure of 5 bar
  • Water use permit: 850,000 m³ per year and a discharge volume of at max. 4,000 m³ per day (200 m³ per hour)

Implementation of the operational data and maintenance software

Changes and advantages provided by the anexio® operating data and maintenance software

The municipal utilities chose the anexio® data and information module as well as anexio® maintenance. The former enables comprehensive logging and reporting, which significantly improves the transparency and traceability of operating data. anexio® maintenance supports the planning and implementation of maintenance and repair tasks, thereby increasing the efficiency of everyday operations.

Fulfillment of proof obligations with anexio® data and information

The operators of the waterworks must prove to the health department and the district government that they comply with laws, regulations, and guidelines. These relate to fauna and flora, infrastructure, and people. “Our main concern was therefore to facilitate the recording, maintenance and output of operating data,” explains Mr. ter Haar, deputy operations manager of the municipal utilities, adding, “before using anexio®, there was hardly any independent data collection. “We were dependent on the data that was provided, to the extent that it existed at all.”

Work organization with anexio® maintenance

The software offers the employees of the Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock waterworks a detailed overview of all upcoming tasks, such as valve maintenance, replacing activated carbon or measuring the groundwater level, including a foreseeable schedule. “We can view and plan the respective work centrally,” praises Mr ter Haar. “You can see that the program really contains know-how and reflects BNA’s extensive experience.” Despite its diverse functions, the software is slim and user-friendly, making it easy to get started – supported by on-site or digital training.

Use of anexio® – Conclusion one year later

“We were very excited about the challenge of transferring as many tasks as possible to anexio® and processing them there digitally and centrally. The initial effort is far from being proportional to the cost savings of the work we carry out, which is repeated in regular cycles. We would take this step again,” says Managing Director Mr Kehm, looking back on the year since the waterworks was put into operation.
